Workshops with Geoff Brooks: Water & Fire element
In these workshops, Geoff explores the Water element, focusing on fluid movement, adaptability, and balance in yoga and martial arts. He emphasizes the art of transition and creating flow in asanas. In contrast, the Fire element workshop delves into regulating Prana and core stability, aiming to balance confidence and self-nurture while avoiding burnout. These workshops offer insights for both practitioners and yoga teachers, promoting grace and effective movement.

Water Element | The Art of Being FluidΒ
Life is punctuated by moments, yet itβs our ability to move and transition between those moments with grace and ease that allows those moments to shine. This is the Water element. In this workshop we explore the intention of, and the action of, fluid movement so our actions move away from heaviness to become a dance with life itself. WaterΒ allows us to be adaptable Β to any situation, to find harmony and balance. Water is in the transition of the Vinyasa, the shape of the Asana and promotes calm in Mindfulness. In these workshops Geoff will share ways of movement to make you feel lighter, more fluid and with grace. Β Many of these techniquesΒ come from Geoffβs own personal practice and training from yoga and martial arts. More specifically weβll explore;
- Movement in stillness β creating flow from nothingness
- The edges of Balance β explore the parameters of your balance
- The Art of Transition β using the tools of movement and balance to create Flow
Ideally youβll already have an Asana practice and in the course of exploration we shall break down poses as deep as your practice allows, particularly more technical transitions that you would like more information on. Meaningβ¦ itβs going to be both informative and fun!

Fire Element | The Phoenix Rises
Fire gives us the abilityΒ to move Prana in ways that incite confidence, determination and charisma, yet retain a sense of Self-Nurture. We will explore how to regulate FireΒ through breath and movement to move away from anger or fear. Geoff will shareΒ techniquea that incite confidence, determination and charisma, yet retain a sense of Self-Nurture β¦too much Fire burns, yet as with the Phoenix, it also brings abundance and rejuvenation. We will work with core awareness and stability to help you learn how to regulate your own Fire as warmth, heat or, when needed, as a furnace.Β Too much and you burn out, too little and you are literally undercooked. After feeling effective core stability, weβll move that the to upper core (solar plexus), an essential bridge between the upper and lower body. This allows us to both regulate the tension and stress in the neck and shoulders, while aiding in essential bodily processes like digestion. The things we explore more deeply are;
- Core awareness β where exactly is it and how to move from the core
- Temperature Regulation β how to regulate body temperature effectively
- Spinal Mobility β thereβs a direct connection between Fire and our Spine
Ideal for people who core stability concerns from desk based work lifestyles, post pregnancy, or lower back problems. Yet also great for Yoga Teachers wanting a different perspective of how we use Fire as an essential component of our practice.
